Crompy plays and writes music in the genre of indiepop prog folk punk quirk rock with a little bit of dance and funk in there too occasionally. Genres are hard to define these days as they are becoming more and more classified, but his tunes have drawn comparisons to Syd Barret, Billy Bragg, The Kinks,  Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Lou Reid, The Beatles and Lennon, Oasis, Radiohead, Elvis Costello, Cat Stevens, Supergrass, Eddie Vedder, Beck, The Violent Femmes, Mick Jagger, The Flight of The Conchords, Jim Morrison, Roxette's Per Gessle, and Phoebe Buffet off the TV Show Friends among others. But ultimately Crompy is Crompy and Crompy alone.
His first album is called "The Karmic Loo" was recorded with the help of Mark Howden at Depot Sound. It is a modern revamping of songs written many years ago that were originally recorded in Crompy's bedroom with a $10 microphone and a demo recording studio program. If you search hard enough you may notice some of those scratchy original recordings available for download.  Crompy's music - it has been made with love, and matured like a fine wine.

The Karmic Loo is now available on bandcamp, itunes, ReverbNation and most other digital sites. It is an album about love and life, people and places, and a philosophical contemplation on the world. UK musician Rob Wheatley had this to say. "Fantastic album ! I've just been listening to it here at Disgracelands, a real original piece of work. Home made elements mix with big studio production, and Crompys brilliant lyrics, often hilarious , sometimes dark, but always from the heart, all come together in a celebration of life & love and all that goes with it. The sun is even shining now here in UK land, I'm not saying this album had anything to do with it, but I wouldn't be surprised ! Give it a listen, put a smile on your face, download it, and put a smile on Crompy's !"

Four singles and music videos  have been released so far from 'The Karmic Loo".  The first was "Telegram", an indie pop/rock tune about love being transmitted through the forces of Nature. The second is "Amy", a quirky, catchy ode to a friend. The third  "Pedestal"  is a whimsical self-deprecating prog-folk song of adoration with an Irish lilt, that comes with a cool Charlie Chaplin-esque music video.  There are many mixes of this song available on bandcamp. And the fourth single is 'The Regular Narcissus" an explosive poppy love song with a bit of a grungey 60s vibe. Some of the single downloads include free copies of the music video and/or single covers or lyrics if you get them off Bandcamp.

There is now a new album on the way. The working title is "The Man From Babylon". So far two more singles have been released. The psychedelic ode "The Girl From Pretoria" about falling in love with someone who's already spoken for, and the angst ridden "America! America!", a political tune about the "greatest" nation on Earth.

Crompy  is also involved in a somewhat comical musical webseries called Crompy And The Amester, in which the duo cover some classic numbers in a very homemade style.
